Why become a truck driver at van Dievel Transport?

Truck driver has long been a bottleneck profession. In our country, there are currently as many as 5,000 vacancies open for this job.

  1. Job security
    A job as a truck driver is broad and varied, and on the upside, the job offers job security. Especially for a company like ours, where the number of customers is varied.
  2. No specific diploma required
    To become a truck driver, you do not need a specific diploma. Only a CE driving licence is a requirement.
  3. An attractive salary
    On average, a truck driver earns around 2,200 to 2,500 euros net per month, but that salary is supplemented by other benefits such as hospitalisation insurance, meal vouchers and a nice clothing package.
  4. No two jobs are the same
    If you want to become a truck driver, there are many options. There is the opportunity to drive for all the transport services we offer. For example, high-altitude transport, ADR,…
  5. No two days are the same
    A job as a truck driver gives you a lot of freedom. You are on the road a lot and get to places you have never been before. And every day you meet lots of interesting people.
  6. A working day on the radio
    Last but not least, you can listen to your favourite radio station or podcasts throughout the working day. Unique, right?

At Van Dievel Transport, we train truck drivers through our driver school ‘The Truck Pilot.’ This is no ordinary driving school, but a training course that is fully tailored to the profession of the future truck driver.

A weekly driver taking on a full-day job can earn 3,500 euros gross. In addition to meal vouchers, group insurance, hospitalisation insurance, ARAB allowance, you can earn extra for weekend and night work. This runs from Saturday at 150% to Sunday work at 200%.

  • After a period of 1 year as a driver, you can apply to become a godfather or godmother at our driver school. This means taking novice drivers into the world of truck driving.
  • You can become a Code 95 trainer which has a whole arsenal of courses that one can specialise in. Such as ADR, defensive driving, load securing,…etc
It is possible to continue working a few days a week on day contracts after retirement.

As a basis, we take daily duties of 12h.
The driver transporting general transport pallet goods (+/-12h/day) is bound to the customers’ hours and those hours must be respected. A work schedule is sought where the driver’s work-life balance is taken into account.
